Diane & her dogs, William, Gwin, Ceilidh & Belle
Diane has always had dogs in her life. Her passion for them led her to become a Dog Trainer and to open Paws Down Training Service (Voted best Maine Trainer 2012; you can also find us on Facebook). With 25+ years of retail experience, plus her business degree from Husson College, Diane was able to build on her love of dogs by opening For Dogs Boutique in 2007 with her business partners.
Diane and her husband, John, had German Shepherds as part of their family pack for 28 years. Now they share their home with Gwin, a Golden Retriever/Chow mix rescued from a shelter in Georgia, William, a Yorkshire Terrier/ min. pen mix who started out as a foster in their home and quickly won John’s heart, and Ceilidh and Belle two Shiloh Shepherds.
Christy & her dogs, Harmon and Olivia
Christy grew up with German Shepherds in her family, and she has always had dogs in her life. Now she shares her home with Harmon (a Shepherd/Husky mix) who was a rescue, and Olivia (a Miniature Schnauzer).
Christy is an experienced dog trainer and groomer. She also worked for three years in dog daycare/boarding. When she is not shopping for new items for the boutique, Christy enjoys cooking, baking, and learning about nutrition for humans and our best friends.
Anna & her dogs, Thule (mom) and Blu (son)
Anna believes that our furry friends are an essential part of the family. She has participated for many years in showing, field trialing, as well as, breeding and fostering Labrador retrievers.
Anna has a BA in Speech Pathology, an MA in Rehabilitation Counseling, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Deafness Rehabilitation Administration. She is a Certified Interpreter.
Sally is a registered nurse, lived on one of the best lakes in Maine for 30 years, and did all she could to contribute to protecting that lake . . . living the Green Way. Her philosophy about dogs is the same: Treat them as a member of the family, and give them eco-friendly toys and wholesome foods. Sally recently bought into For Dogs Boutique because of each of the owner’s beliefs.
Sally has had Siberian Huskies, Mutts, and Goldendoodles. She was President of Eastern Maine Agility Club for several years, competing with her Siberian. She also competed in Rally-O with her Goldendoodle, Ginger, a certified Therapy Dog. Sally currently volunteers with the Dog Ears Program at the Brewer Library and at area schools. The program helps children build confidence by reading aloud to dogs.
